A Canadian winter is a powerful thing. It has the power to entertain, to make nervous, to render unconscious, to provide joy, to promote sport, to be the cause of warm nights under the covers, to …well you can fill in the blank. It can also seem to drag on forever and to bring on the doldrums.
One of the best ways I have found to chase away the winter greys and to bring on the heat is by enjoying exciting, fast paced and spicy latin american music. Be it salsa, casino, chica, merengue, bachata or any other style of music. Listening to the music is like plugging yourself into super nuclear powered batteries on overdrive.
It moves my toes and raises my spirits, no tippling required.
The heat the music brings sparks great energy and vibrancy. A pulsing in the blood and a smile on my lips. I have seen septuagenarians enjoying a turn on the dance floor at family gatherings and can only hope to be so moved by the music when I am that experienced.
I love to be moved by the power of positive music.
